BBC Ideas release new Living Words short doc “Overcoming self-harm”

“Attention needing, not attention seeking”

We are proud to have made the film ‘Overcoming self-harm’ for BBC Ideas. Click here to view!

Featuring members from our project Living Warriors: Flux, the short documentary shot in our home town of Folkestone, takes a realistic look at ways to support oneself to overcome the need to self-harm. We send our love to all the contributors who courageously told their stories, in order to help others, along with mental health specialists Lauretta Kavanagh and Dr. Nihara Krause.

This short documentary was produced and directed by our founder Susanna Howard, with support from our own Olivia Franklin, DoP – Curt Taylor, Editor, Grade – Sharon Cho Ki Chung, Sound – Nile Mok. Music in the film is by the Living Warriors: Flux group with support from ilā (FKA Anil Sebastian) and Josh Cottingham, plus tracks from ilā’s album ‘Human’. Huge thanks to Beth Jenkinson and Costanza Gambarini at BBC.
