Living Words & COVID-19

Hello there –

We have spent the past few weeks working out how we can survive whilst asking people we work with what we can do and what is needed.

As a small arts & literature charity, our work relies heavily on making projects and events happen, working one-to-one with those who have something to say, but aren’t always heard.

As it may be many months before we can be back running Living Words residencies in care homes, and meet physically with those affected by a dementia as well as isolated individuals, those experiencing mental ill-health & communities – we need to adapt our actions when the words of many are even more at risk of falling through the gaps. Without being able to continue project work in new ways, small charities like ours have little chance of survival.

We have been writing bids non-stop, talking to our collaborators and checking in with the people we work with and for. At this time, we are keen to work out ways that we can continue to positively impact the wellbeing of all of our communities.

Our mission has always been to champion the voices of those seldom heard and less valued by society, using the arts to provoke change.

We will be in touch with more news soon.
